With views of the Mississippi River and downtown landmarks, the River Terrace at Shaw Center for the Arts is the perfect setting for a wedding, fundraiser, or corporate event. The River Terrace offers a unique choice between 1) customizing your event vendors with a venue-only option or 2) a full service experience that includes catering and bar options.

Getting Started
Complete the online application to check date availability and receive a customized quote. If the date is available, a complimentary one-week hold will be put on the date. The hold gives you time to tour the River Terrace and gets the paperwork started without fear of losing the date. If the date is not available, SCA Staff will contact you to review available dates.

Book the venue! If you decide to book the River Terrace, a $1,500 nonrefundable deposit and signed agreement are required to secure the date. The remaining invoice balance is due 60 days prior to the event.

The combined indoor and outdoor spaces can host up to 400 guests for a cocktail-style event or 300 for a seated dinner. The smaller indoor room is a perfect space to display buffet-style catering and specialty cakes, while the bar, seating and live music take place on the larger outdoor terrace. Don’t worry about rain or cold — white tents are included for inclement weather!

The Shaw Center for the Arts has more private event venues offered by organizations within the building. Facilities are available from The LSU Museum of Art, Manship Theatre, LSU School of Art Glassell Gallery and the Pennington Rooftop Terrace & Sculpture Garden at Tsunami.
